Let's do the good news first.
Good News Part A: I saw the neurologist today. I've had migraines since I was 6. They just randomly started and got worse as I got older. I switched to a new primary doctor about a year ago, told her about them (as I've told everyone for the last 21 years), and she was the first to say "that's not normal." Within two months, I was seen by a neurologist. She put me on this drug called Topomax - a few side effects of which can be tingling/numbness in random parts of the body, extreme thirst, extreme drowsiness. I had all three; sometimes I'd feel like my face was covered in cobwebs it was so numb. Yay.
Today, however, I was able to tell her that I haven't had a single migraine since August. Which means I can stop taking the Topomax. Which means the numbness will go away, the thirst will be manageable, and the drowsiness will hopefully be managed by normal amounts of sleep.
Good News Part B: I found out today that I've lost 20 pounds. So to all those people who've said "are you losing weight?" - yes, I am. Thank you for noticing WAY before I did.
The okay news.
Jake's been back in the shop since Monday. (For those of you who don't pay attention, Jake's my 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe - he's getting a new transmission.) Aamco - double A honk honk M C O (that's for Carrie ) - had him all last week. They said they'd have to adjust the pressure in the lines on Monday. I dropped him off and Enterprise picked me up to arrange a rental - on Aamco's dime (since it's basically their bad that I had to have the car serviced again immediately). I got a call Monday afternoon, there was still something wrong with the transmission, and I should keep the rental until Tuesday afternoon; they'd call me.
Tuesday afternoon, no call, so I call them as I'm leaving work - in the rental. They had to take the transmission out of the car again and it was in pieces. They would call me when Jake's ready to be picked up again. Still no word from them. The okay part of all this is that Aamco is paying for everything, even the rental.
*Friday: I got an email from my dad, the car was ready. I went to get it, and it was not. It was still doing the same thing, and they're going to have to rebuild it a third time. I might have it by next Tuesday, hopefully by Thanksgiving.*
Now, for the hot car.
The Enterprise rep took me out to the lot and said "This is what Aamco is paying for. Is this okay?" Sha! Yeah this is okay!
Meet Tory. He's a cherry-red Pontiac G5. And boy is it hard not to speed in this car!
That's it. Peace and love.
