I'm feeling kind of excited. I just started a program... a process... whatever it is... called The Artist's Way. It's a twelve week program to unlocking your creativity.
It's not just a program for writers, but for painters, sculptors, dancers, singers. Any kind of artist can benefit from this program. And the reason for that is because it's spiritual.
The author is careful not to alienate people with "this God or that". But she does remind us that God is a creator, and when we create, we are honoring and reflecting that ultimate creative power.
It's an interesting process. It's about uncovering the creative enemies we've encountered, rooting out the negative beliefs we have about our creativity, and reminding ourselves that our gift comes from God and that it is worth something. I finish each day with this affirmation: I am a gifted artist. My art is a gift from God. My art is a reflection of God's love for me.
I'll be done - but by no means done - on September 1. Wish me luck.
