Naughty Little Hotties

Saturday night was a great night.

The girls and I went to a show.

The girls would be Steph & Frankie, of course. The show would a Big Bad show. Of course. Do we go to any other kind? But this time it was slightly different.

We had the priviledge of attending a show featuring Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra at the Long Beach Arena - normally the home of the Long Beach Ice Dogs hockey team. A somewhat strange location for a symphony show, but impressive in the end.

We were expecting a bunch of snotty, middle-aged fuddy-duddies dressed to the nines with their bottles of wine and their whiney voices saying "What's this about voodoo?" and "Who's big bad daddy's are they?"

In reality, I was more than a little underwhelmed. Hardly anyone dressed up, except for the three of us. Of course. And people brought in the most ghetto looking picnic baskets! A cardboard box from the restaurant is one thing. But a mail crate from the post office? Seriously.

The symphony sounded great and the maestro was amusing. He had even created a little piece especially to harmonize with the cell phone. And when they played with Big Bad... well, it was incredible. Even when Big Bad played alone, they sounded amazing in that space, like I've never heard them before. The sound was full... big. Big enough to fill such a large space. It was the best I've ever heard them sound.

After the show they did a brief meet'n'greet and Steph got a picture with the elusive Tony. Dirk, such a generous guy, hung around until the tear down crew nearly kicked us out, and walked us to our car. It was a fantastic evening.

Oh. We were not necessarily naughty that night. Not any more than usual. But we were definitely hottie. And we're usually so hottie it should be illegal. And therein lies the naughty. ;)
