Success!

I just got back from my little appointment with the Pasadena Police Dept. I'm a big fan of cops, and being so close to them in their uniforms with their guns and the creaking leather on their holsters and belts…. I need a minute….

Okay, I'm back. There was a small parking snafu, so I barely made it on time. I almost gave in and parked at a meter, except I didn't have any change and I thought "I can't get a parking ticket while I'm here trying to resolve a traffic ticket!" So I found something else and that turned out to be restricted, but I didn't notice that until I was leaving. But no ticket for that one, thank goodness.

So I checked in, went through the doors – 3 of them! These guys are buried – and waited. I waived at someone to let him know I was there (a cop? He was wearing a weird uniform, looked like highway patrol maybe) and kept waiting.

Finally, an officer came out and led me back to his office. He already had the video queued up. I told him I'd already seen it and it wouldn't show us anything, but that the court had told me to come see him. (Of course, not him specifically, but the police in general. But he was pretty hot, so if they had said to see him specifically, it would have been an added bonus.)

He played the video while I was telling him all that about the court's recommendation. He cut me off and said "And it's clearly not you." He was already looking at the picture of the driver – blown up and still a little blurry, but clearly not me. Plus, that lovely service cone was on the roof.

So I showed him the service order proving the car was in Hyundai's custody and he goes "That's all I need." He printed the dismissal and said he'd take it across the street to the courthouse this afternoon. I got a copy and he told me I can call in 4-6 weeks to confirm the dismissal has been processed.

Yay for thinking people. Yay for being able to see them in person and talk logically and present proof.

And an extra yay for them being nice to look at and in uniform with handcuffs and leather. Was that TMI?
